Local Area

Cabo de Palos is known for its natural beauty on the sea. It is a peninsula that features serene coves and beautiful ocean waters. The wildlife near Cabo de Palos is so vibrant that the area was declared an Integral Marine Reserve in order to conserve both the land and sea. Scuba diving is exceptional here, as you can explore deep sea corals and old shipwrecks in the area. The lighthouse on the rocky coastline is another key attraction.

La Manga Strip

Local Area

La Manga Strip juts out to separate the Mediterranean from Mar Menor. The weather here is nearly perfect all year round with temperatures never falling below 18 degrees Celsius. The Strip features beaches on both of its sides, which make the area a hotspot for tourism. Some of the most popular activities to do here are taking wake sports lessons or going out on a boat from the marina. Since La Manga Strip is the most touristy of the areas around La Manga Club, it is slightly more commercialized than the other villages. However, you can still find great shops and cafes along the beaches.

Lorca

neighboring Area

Lorca is another city that has a lot of historical influence. It dates back to medieval times when it separated the Muslim southern tip of Spain and the Christian part. Lorca is known as the "Baroque City" for its historic artwork, but an earthquake in 2011 devastated the area, and that architecture is still being refinished. The trip to Lorca is a little over an hour, but it is well worth it for the cultural experience in the city.
