South Course

Villa Harlequin is a uniquely styled, spacious luxury villa set in extensive secure grounds right in the heart of La Manga Club. Perfectly positioned for easy access to the resort’s world-class golf courses and other facilities, it offers an excellent base for families and groups of friends seeking a comfortable and memorable golf-focused getaway.

The South Course is the championship layout at La Manga Club in Murcia, Spain. Originally designed by Robert Dean Putnam in 1971, it was remodelled by Arnold Palmer in 2005.While the North and West courses are in excellent condition and offer superb golf, the South Course remains the flagship for experienced players. Measuring approximately 6,500 metres (around 7,100 yards) from the white tees, it plays as a par 73 and is the longest and most demanding of the three courses. It features water hazards on 15 of the 18 holes, wide palm-fringed fairways, strategic bunkers, and a strong mix of short and long holes. The front nine is particularly tough, while the back nine includes several intriguing doglegs. The South Course has hosted multiple Spanish Opens, PGA Championships, European Tour qualifying schools, and more recently the European Senior Masters. It continues to provide the sternest test of the three layouts, rewarding accuracy and strategy while punishing errant shots. Golfers love it for its memorable holes, significant hazards, and true championship calibre — making it the most preferred course for those seeking a serious challenge.
